Project Management
Overview
Manage the full lifecycle: create projects, assign leader/members, set dates and status, and connect stats/reports.
Create a Project
- Click "New Project" from the project list
- Enter name and key (2–10 chars, uppercase/numeric, starts with a letter)
- Set leader and dates (start/end), then create
- Optionally link to a portfolio
Project Details
Use the Information tab to edit basics, leader/members, see progress/ETA and resource metrics.
- Edit basics (name/key/dates/status)
- Manage project leader and members
- Auto-calculated progress and estimated completion date
- Resource margin and key indicators
Status Policy
Follows SRS status rules. Some transitions are automatic; editing is restricted in terminal states.
- PLANNED/REOPENED → IN_PROGRESS when first elapsed is recorded
- When total remain is 0 → CLOSED suggested (user confirmation required)
- COMPLETED/CLOSED/CANCELLED are View Only
Roles
- Project Leader: can change dates/members/status; adjust estimates
- Project Member: can edit own curEst/elapsed (except terminal states)
- Manager: can modify estimates across all projects
Permissions Summary
- Check System permissions first, then context permissions (RBAC)
- Bulk/advanced estimate edits require Leader/Manager privileges
